New company aspires to be the organizing principle for the vast and vital world of education.

By Adam Shapiro, Executive Director - Noodle Education

Noodle Education, Inc. – www.noodle.org – was originated by the Founder of The Princeton Review and 2tor, and developed by veterans from the worlds of education and technology, including leaders from Kaplan, Colloquy, Kumon, and Beliefnet, to change the way people connect with learning and the way education programs and schools connect with students.

Making the right decisions about education is vitally important. Yet consumers’ current options for gathering information, making comparisons, and completing education transactions are inefficient and frustrating. Because of the fragmented and exasperating nature of education search, individuals and families often miss out on worthwhile learning opportunities or, worse, choose inappropriate educational programs, thereby wasting their time and money and setting them down wrong academic paths. Likewise, education service providers frequently lose out on attracting students who could greatly benefit from their academic programs and become loyal clients.

Noodle believes that such high stakes decisions deserve a dynamic tool to guide individuals in making the “best for the user” choices about their education. Noodle has developed the first and only online recommendation engine and social network for lifelong learning. Our users get personalized recommendations for a range of formal and informal education opportunities, from pre-schools to grad schools, from local tutors to study abroad programs, from fine arts to fitness, and more.

“Noodle.org users benefit from the thousands of hours we spend aggregating the finest education and learning data available. We then deliver that information through a simple to use, personalized user interface. In addition to our significant proprietary data collection and recommendation engine, we currently feature over 130,000 educational providers on our site,” said CEO Joe Morgan.

By collecting the best available data about education providers and creating sophisticated, engaging social search and recommendation engines to help users make sense of it all, Noodle has created a virtuous circle of participation by consumers of educational services, providers of educational services, and suppliers of educational information.

Featuring your organization’s profile and learning programs on Noodle is simple and free, providing a unique and effective means of increasing your visibility and creating a powerful new sales channel.
